The presidency has said when Buhari responds to the Senate’s rejection of Magu the country will know.
The presidency has said Muhammdu Buhari will soon make an official response to the Senate’s reliance on a DSS report in rejecting Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Vanguard reports that the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, made the presidency’s new position known in a phone chat on Saturday night, March 25. Adesina recalled that the presidency had not spoken on the issue because the Senate was yet to officially communicate Magu’s rejection to it.
He said now that the issue had been communicated to the presidency, Buhari was yet to formerly speak on the matter.
He said: “Our last public position was that when they communicate to the president, we will respond.
Now, they have communicated, just wait for the official. When the President responds, the country will know.”

Buhari to overrule DSS report and stick with Magu It will be recalled that the Senate’s rejection of Magu was based on a security report from the Department of State Service, DSS among others. Naij.com reported that this was followed on Friday, March 24, by a new seven-page letter by the State Security Service (SSS) expatiating on the corruption allegations against boss of the anti-corruption agency. Premium Times reported that the letter, which was circulated to select Nigerian journalists by a Faceless group, Advocacy Justice, was written by the SSS to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to further push its relentless campaign against Mr. Magu.
The news paper said one of its editors was among journalists to which the document was sent. The letter appeared to have been written in response to a request by Mr. Malami that the SSS should provide documentary evidence of its allegations against the acting EFCC chair In its response, the SSS, through one Folashade Bello, sent the minister at least 12 documents. One of the documents contained minutes of the 20th plenary meeting of the Police Service Commission in 2010 which reportedly reprimanded Mr Magu.
It was gathered that the eleven other documents simply laboured to link Mr Magu to Mohammed Umar, a retired air commodore being investigated by the SSS.

The spokesperson for the Senate, Abdullahi Sabi, said the leaked reports had vindicated the decision of the upper legislative chamber to reject Magu’s nomination as chairman of the EFCC
